記住: "the day before" 顯示這是事後的轉述。說話人的動詞要怎樣改變？
- 說話人原話的動詞是 "lost"。句中有 "the day before"，所以轉述時時態要後移一步。
- 所以 "lost" 改為 "had lost"。

常見錯誤
- 用了現在時態。轉述的是較早前的話，動詞要相應改變。
- 保留了原話的動詞形式。句中有 the next day、at that time 這類詞語，轉述時動詞要隨之改變。
- 動詞改錯了。請核對說話人的原話。
