Ask who, what, when and where in a conversation

Questions in this subject are always in English
The text is what is being learned, so translating it would change the exercise. Explanations still follow your chosen language.

Worked example 1

A: ___ has my ruler? B: Amy has your ruler.

Remember: Read what B says first. Does B talk about a person, a thing, a time or a place?

Common mistakes

  • Mixed up who and what. Who asks about a person; what asks about a thing.
  • Mixed up when and where. When asks about a time; where asks about a place.
